A "Democratic Declaration for Peace" will be launched in the offices of the European Parliament in Dublin tomorrow.
Representatives of unions, schools, community groups and other organisations are invited to sign the declaration, which is based on the six principles of the Mitchell report and is intended as an "unofficial referendum" against violence.
Over 600 people walked passed through Galway city centre yesterday afternoon on a peace march. The event was staged by UCG Students' Union. It was followed by a short rally at Eyre Square, where there was a minute's silence.
