Members of the deaf community can now contact the Eastern Health Board for the price of a local call through a new minicom facility introduced by the board. The minicom, a special computer with a built in screen, allows a deaf person to contact a similar machine through the telephone system. A query then appears on screen and a reply can then be transmitted back to the client.
