Belgrade - Aquatic life in the Danube is still at "some" risk from cyanide, but the pollution does not exceed threshold levels, a UN environmental expert said yesterday after his team tested samples from the Yugoslav-Romanian border.
"Our overall conclusion is that there are still some risks for aquatic life in the Danube, but the levels do not however exceed the health risks," Mr Pekka Haavisto, head of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) mission to Yugoslavia told the press in Belgrade.
