COPENHAGEN Queen Margrethe of Denmark yesterday inaugurated the first direct passenger link between the Danish capital and the European Continent.

Until the opening of the 18 km bridge tunnel, train passengers between the capital and the Jutland peninsula were forced to take a scenic but slow ferry journey. The link cuts the travel time between Copenhagen and Aarhus, Denmark's second city, by about half from its previous five hours.
