THE Dáil has passed the second stage of the Capital Acquisitions Tax Consolidation Bill, 2002. The Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy, said the Bill consolidated all existing legislation in that area. There was a need for this, he added, because almost 27 years had elapsed since the Capital Acquisitions Tax Act was enacted.
