Prague - For centuries the land-locked Czechs have dreamt of gaining access to the sea. Now a bizarre scheme to alleviate a debt owed by Croatia may fulfil their hopes.
Under the scheme being negotiated by the two central European countries, the Czech Republic will write off the $4 million Croatia owes in return for the use of a stretch of rocky Dalmatian coast, probably including the popular island of Hvar and the Makarska Riviera.
