Greek and Turkish parties in the Cyprus peace talks have agreed to continue with talks although each party has its own objections to the UN's revised plan for reunification, according to a United Nations official.

The official reported that submissions by Greek, Turkish, Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot delegations, in which they said they would carry on talks, met a deadline today imposed by UN secretary general, Mr Kofi Annan.
