Customs officers in Dublin have seized counterfeit shampoo with an estimated retail value of €220,000.

The shampoo carried the 'Head and Shoulders' brand and was imported in lorry containers from the United Arab Emirates. The seizure was made at Dublin Port.

Counterfeit versions of shampoo products have been discovered in the past. Earlier this year, Canadian health authorities issued a warning after potentially dangerous bacteria was found in a counterfeited Tigi Linea range.
