Children’s charity Barnardos have issued an appeal after a large sum of money was discovered inside a pair of curtains donated to a Dublin store.
A large sum of cash was found tucked pinned inside the lining of a pair of curtains that were donated to the Barnardos charity shop in Rathmines last week.
The donation was made by a woman at the shop on Lower Rathmines Road on Wednesday, May 30th at about 1.30pm.
The charity is appealling for the donor to get in touch with the shop manager.
“We feel that she probably didn’t even know that the cash was pinned inside the curtains and we wanted to let her know that we found it and ask her to get in touch with us," said Colette Miller, manager of Barnardos' six charity shops.
“Over the years, we’ve had some unusual items donated to us from much sought after Claris Cliff art deco crockery to engagement rings, a jacket worn by Colm Meaney in the film Into the West and even grass cuttings.”
