The Minister for Transport, Mr Cullen, is to meet representatives of workers at Aer Lingus this morning ahead of a Government decision on the future of the airline.

That decision will not be taken until the end of January.

The Government had been due to decide on the future ownership of the profitable airline before Christmas.

It will now engage in a consultative process with the airline's stakeholders, beginning with Siptu this morning.
