London - A gang of petty crooks who were ordered to plant daffodil bulbs as part of their community service have given townsfolk a rude awakening, it emerged yesterday. The 12 offenders were told to plant hundreds of bulbs along one of Rotherham's main roads last year as part of a scheme to brighten up the South Yorkshire town.
But when the bulbs sprouted this week, the blooms spelled out a pair of rude words - four feet high. Residents said people were coming from miles around to look at the flower power message.
