Two women have escaped uninjured after a shot was fired through the window of a house in west Belfast.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses in connection with a shot being fired from a passing car in the Rodney Drive area of the city at around 1.40am on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said two women who were in the house at the time were not injured.

A silver car was seen in the area at the time.

A motive for the attack has not yet been established.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
