Shotgun that gardaí believe used in attack found during a search in Dublin on Tuesday

A woman is to appear in court on Thursday morning charged in connection with a shooting in Dublin on Monday.

A 29-year-old mother and her baby son, along with a 17-year-old man, were shot and injured as part of a feud among Traveller families at Parslickstown Gardens in Mulhuddart.

The 23-year-old woman who was arrested on Tuesday will appear before Blanchardstown district court at 10.30am on Thursday morning.

A shotgun, that gardaí believe was used in the attack, was found during a search in Dublin on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Dan Donovan, formerly of Parslickstown Gardens, was brought before the Dublin District Court charged with possession of a firearm and making a threat to kill.

The father-of-15 was remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear in court again next week.

Gardaí believe a family-based dispute has arisen because of a romantic relationship between a man and woman. And they believe the shooting represents an escalation in that dispute.

Lynn Doyle (29) and her eight-month old son were wounded, along with a 17-year-old relative. All three were sprayed with shotgun pellets.

Other members of the family said Ms Doyle and the wounded teenager were putting up a Christmas tree when the shots were fired.

It is understood the 17-year-old and the baby were at the front of the house when the first shot was discharged from across the road. And when Ms Doyle ran out of the house she too was wounded.

The baby suffered wounds to the leg and body while the male teenager was wounded in the stomach and chest.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Parlickstown at around 12pm that witnessed a car driving at high-speed, or that witnessed suspicious behaviour is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda station on 666 7000.
