Woman seriously injured by car during handbag theft

Robbery took place at shopping centre in Lucan, Co Dublin

Gardaí are investigating a handbag theft at a Dublin shopping centre yesterday in which a woman was seriously injured by a car .

The incident took place at 5.35pm when the woman in her 20s was sitting in her car with a child at Ballyowen Shopping Centre, Lucan. A man in his late teens approached the car and snatched her handbag.

The woman tried to retrieve her handbag but was seriously injured by a car.

She was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstownwhere she is being treated. Gardaí have made no arrests and are continuning to investigate the incidident. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Garda in Lucan on 01-6667300.
