Two questioned over Galway drugs seizure

Herbal cannbis worth €400,000 found in Tuam area

Gardaí in Galway have seized herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €400,000.

Two men were arrested during the operation in yesterday.

The seizure was made as part of an investigation involving members of the Garda National Drugs Unit, Revenue Customs Service, Galway and Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit during a search at a house in the Tuam area.

The men aged in their 40s were arrested and taken to Galway Garda Station for questioning. They are being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

They can be held for seven days.
