Two men arrested in connection with Clondalkin sexual assault

Two being held following attack on woman in parkland area on Thursday morning

Two men have been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman in Clondalkin, west Dublin, in the early hours of Thursday.

The men, one aged in his early 20s and the other his late teens, were arrested on Friday morning in the Ronanstown area.

They are being held at Lucan Garda Station, according to a Garda spokesman.

The attack is understood to have taken place at about 3.20am on Thursday in a park area of Newlands Cross.

The woman had a bicycyle with her at the time of the attack. She was hospitalised after the incident.

Gardaí appealed on Thursday for anyone who may have been in the Ronanstown area to come forward.

They also asked drivers with dashcams who may have been in the area to review the footage for anything that could be suspicious.
