Two men have been arrested after a female garda was injured this morning when her patrol car was rammed by suspected burglars.
The garda, in her 20s, had responded to reports of suspicious activity linked to a car in the Cian Lea Estate in Swords, Co Dublin.
A Garda spokesman said a white Nissan Micra was spotted by officers before it drove at the patrol car and rammed it, injuring the officer.
Two males in their late teens were arrested in the area following searches by Garda units, including the Garda helicopter, and taken for questioning to Coolock Garda station.
The incident took place at about 3.25am.
Gardaí said the injured officer suffered a serious head wound and was to undergo surgery in Beaumont Hospital.
The car was later recovered near Talbot Hall, Swords.
