Two held after €1 million seized in Co Limerick

Money discovered during planned search of property in Castleconnell

Two men were arrested and more than €1 million in cash was seized after a search operation in Co Limerick yesterday afternoon.

The money was discovered during a search of a property at Portcrusha near Castleconnell. The search was part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity in the Limerick area.

The men arrested are in their 50s and 40s and are being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Henry Street Garda Station.
