Two people died in separate traffic collisions on Irish roads over the weekend.

Gardaí in Dingle are investigating after a female cyclist was killed in a collision at 10.40am on Sunday.

The woman, aged in her 30s, died after the bicycle she was cycling left the road and hit a ditch on the Conor Pass (Dingle to Tralee Road).

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Tralee.

Gardaí have asked anyone with information to contact Dingle Garda Station on 066 915 1522, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 or any Garda station.

In a separate incident, a man in his 40s died after the van he was driving crashed in Aughnacloy, Co Tyrone on Saturday night.

The collision happened on the Tullyvar Road just outside the town shortly before 8.30pm. Police said the man was driving a white Ford Transit van at the time of the crash.

The Tullyvar Road has since reopened to traffic, and anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact police in Dungannon or the Collision Investigation Unit .
