Two arrested in connection with firebomb incident at Co Clare house

Attack occurred at an address on Pearse Avenue in Cloughleigh, Ennis in November

Two men have been arrested in connection with an incident last month in which a firebomb was thrown at a house in Ennis, Co Clare.

The attack occurred at an address on Pearse Avenue, Cloughleigh, in the early hours of Monday, November 22nd.

As well as the petrol bomb, a firearm was discharged at the scene although there were no injuries.

On Friday, gardaí undertook a number of searches in the Ennis area and two men aged in their 30s were arrested.

They were being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Ennis and Shannon garda stations. The investigation is ongoing.
