Two arrested following seizure of ATM scamming equipment in Navan

Two men have been arrested following the seizure of ATM scamming equipment including 500 blank cards, a fake ATM front, recording devices and laptops.

The men, both Romanian nationals in their late 40s and late 20s, were arrested at the scene by gardaí from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau who were carrying out a search of a house on Slane Road, Navan in Co Meath on Monday morning.

Gardaí discovered ATM skimming paraphernalia inside the house including a fake ATM front, hard drives, receiving devices, soldering equipment, laptops, about 500 blank cards to be used for storing data copied at ATMs, sat navs, pinhole cameras, skimming devices and various ATM skimming paraphernalia.

Both men are currently detained at Navan Garda Station under Section 50 of Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Investigations and searches are ongoing.
