Two men have been arrested following the seizure of cannabis plants worth an estimated €160,000 in Co Tipperary.

As part of an ongoing investigation into the cultivation, sale and supply of cannabis in the area, Gardaí from the drugs unit in Thurles searched a premises in Moyne yesterday afternoon and discovered the plants.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and is currently being held at Templemore Garda station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking act 1996.

A second man, aged 32, was arrested in a follow-up operation and is being held at Thurles Garda station.

The Garda investigation is continuing, a spokesman said.
