A woman in her 60s died on Sunday after the car in which she was travelling collided with another car at Skew Bridge, Tivoli, Cork.

A tourist in her sixties from New Zealand has died following a crash on the Skew Bridge in Tivoli, Cork.

Four other people injured in the two vehicle crash were taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for non life threatening injuries.

The woman who died had been on holiday in Ireland. The crash occurred shortly after 4pm.

Paramedics from the East Cork Rapid Response as well as crews from Cork city Fire Brigade attended at the scene. The woman was taken by ambulance to CUH where she died a short time later.

Diversions remain in place at the site of the crash on the Skew Bridge. The scene has been preserved for a forensic and technical examination. The coroner has been notified.
