Three arrested on suspicion of motor insurance fraud

Men aged from in their 20s to 40s held as part of ongoing ‘Operation Nascar’

Three men were arrested in Co Cork this morning on suspicion of involvement in fraudulent motor insurance claims.

The men, ranging in age from their 20s to their 40s, are being detained as part of “Operation Nascar” under Sections 4 and 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Garda stations in the county.

The arrests involved members of the Organised Crime Unit and Fraud Investigation Unit attached to Anglesea Street Garda station, along with local detectives.

They bring to 20 the number of persons arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
