Third arrest following aggravated robbery of Howth dentist’s home

Woman and daughter (8) tied to chairs during robbery

Gardaí have arrested a third man over an aggravated burglary in Dublin in which a gang tied up a mother and her eight-year-old daughter before fleeing with €30,000 in cash.

The incident took place December 13th, 2103, when four men raided the home of a dentist in Casana View, Howth, Co Dublin at about 9.15am before making their escape in one of the family's cars.

The 43-year-old woman and her child were tied to chairs with cable-ties as the gang, who were armed with crowbars, ransacked their home. The gang fled with jewellery and an estimated €30,000 in cash from a safe. The woman’s husband had left for work in his dental practice when the gang struck.

Today's arrest is the third following that of two men in April which resulted in files being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
