PSNI detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward following a so-called punishment shooting in west Belfast.

The suspected republican dissident paramilitary-style shooting happened around 9.20 pm in Monagh Drive when a 17-year-old male was shot.

He sustained three wounds to his legs

Police said he was shot after a number of masked men forced their way into the house. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact the police.
