Teen due in Roscommon court over false imprisonment

Gardaí investigate holding of man in Strokestown on Tuesday

A male teenager is due to appear before a Co Roscommon court this morning charged in relation to false imprisonment.

The teen was one of four people were arrested yesterday by gardaí for questioning over the imprisonment of the man in his mid-20s in Strokestown on Tuesday.

A man and woman in their late teens were arrested during a planned Garda search of two houses in the Roscommon area yesterday morning. A third man in his early 20s was arrested by gardaí at a house in Strokestown.

All four were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The woman and two men were released without charge.

The teenager is due before Castlerea District Court this morning.
