Six arrested in Tallaght over injury to garda

Incident follows 4am call-out to house over disturbance

Six people were arrested after a garda sustained a facial injury during an incident early this morning.

Gardai were called to a house at Redwood Lawn in Tallaght at about 4am following a report of a disturbance there.

On entering the property they were confronted by a number of individuals and a male garda was allegedly assaulted.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and has since been released.

Gardai arrested six people - two women and four men - ranging in age from their early 20s to early 50s in relation to the incident.

They were detained at Tallaght Garda station and were subsequently released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
