Man sustains serious facial injuries in Sligo incident

Gardaí have arrested two men in Sligo town after another man suffered serious facial injuries.

Gardaí were called to a house in Avondale, Sligo at 3.30am after receiving reports of a disturbance in the home.

A man in his 20s was injured during the incident and taken by ambulance to Sligo General Hospital with serious facial injuries. The injuries are not believe to be life threatening.

Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with incident and are being held at Sligo Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are currently examining the scene and have appealed for witnesses. They ask that anyone with information contact Sligo Garda Station (071) 9157 000.
