Man for court over Dublin 8 restaurant robbery

Male in his 30s threatened staff with a ‘scissors’ before leaving with a sum of money

A man is to appear at the  Criminal Courts of Justice on Parkgate Street in Dublin later today charged in connection with a robbery at a restaurant on Werburgh Street yesterday.

A man is to appear in court today in connection with a robbery at a restaurant in Dublin 8 yesterday.

The man entered the restaurant on Werburgh Street at about 10.30am and threatened staff with an implement, which gardaí said was “described as a scissors”.

The man, in his 30s, was given a sum of money and left the premises but was followed by a member of staff. He was arrested a short time later at a nearby housing complex.

He was taken to Kilmainham Garda station where he was held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He is to go before a judge at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Parkgate Street later today.
