Man dies following two-car crash in Co Donegal

The vehicles collided head-on at about 6pm on the main Malin to Carndonagh road

A man has died following a two-car collision in Co Donegal.

The incident occurred just after 6pm on Monday evening at Strand Head on the main Malin to Carndonagh road, when an Audi A4 car and a Kia car collided head-on.

Gardaí, the fire service and the ambulance service were alerted to the crash by a passerby.

The victim is understood to be from the Malin area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second person involved in the crash did not suffer serious injuries.

Appeal

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information on the incident to contact Buncrana Garda station.

Supt Eugene McGovern said: “We would appeal to anybody who was in the Strand Road area just outside Malin who may have seen either of these cars in or around the time of the accident to contact gardaí.”
