Man charged with possession of €680,000 worth of cannabis

Charged 24-year-old appears at Limerick Distrcit Court after Co Clare seizure

A Co Clare man has appeared before a special court sitting in Limerick charged with possession of over half a million euro worth of cannabis.

Ronan Clohessy, 24, of Crossfields, Cree, was charged before Limerick District Court with simple possession and possession for sale or supply of an estimated €680,000 worth of the drug.

Mr Clohessy, who was arrested at a house in Kilkee yesterday, was granted bail of an independent surety of €5,000 which was provided by a family member.

He was ordered to surrender his passport, sign on daily at Kilrush Garda staton, and remanded to appear before Ennis District Court on January 14 next.
