Man arrested over Dublin security van robbery

Gardai appeal for witnesses to armed raid at Donaghmede Shopping Centre

Gardai have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in north county Dublin this morning.

A lone gunman approached security staff as they transferred cash from a fast food outlet occurred at Donaghmede Shopping Centre at about 9.30am.

The raider fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of cash in a silver Volkswagen Scirocco. There were no shots fired and no injuries.

Gardai arrested a man in his 20s in the Kinsealy area shortly after the robbery.

He is being held under Section 30 of the offences against the State Act, 1939, at Coolock Garda Station.

Gardai have appealed for anyone with information to contact Coolock Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line.
