Man arrested in connection with death of Gerard Freyne

Victim died of his injuries following assault in Limerick on Wednesday

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Gerard Freyne in Limerick.

Mr Freyne died following an assault on Lord Edward Street on Wednesday at about 7.45pm. He was brought to hospital where he died from his injuries.

On Saturday morning, gardaí arrested a man, aged 32, in connection with the death. He was detained at Roxboro Road Garda station.
