A 19-year-old woman was found dead in Creggan, Derry, today.
The body was found early this morning and police have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the matter.
SDLP Foyle MLA Pat Ramsey said it was a tragedy for the community.
“Residents living in nearby Cromore Gardens have been left reeling from this news,” he said.
“I know that people of Derry will now rally around the family of the victim at this incredibly difficult time.”
