A man has been arrested following the discovery of a sawn-off shot gun and drugs worth an estimated €200,000 in Tallaght.

The firearm was found along with a number of cartridges during a garda search of a car in the Jobstown area at about 6.30pm this evening.

Heroin and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €200,000 was also seized.

The man is being detained at Tallaght Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
