Arrest made after brief standoff in flat on North Great Georges Street

A 29-year-old man has been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Dublin city centre last night.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Dublin city centre last night.

The burglary at a flat on North Great Georges Street was reported to gardaí around 11pm. When they arrived, they found a man armed with a knife inside the flat. After a brief standoff, the man was diarmed and arrested. No-one was injured in the incident and the residents of the flat were not there at the time.

The man is being held at Store Street garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
