A man is due to appear in court on Friday charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Terenure, Dublin.
At about 6.20pm on Thursday a man wearing a hat and scarf entered the shop, threatened staff and demanded cash. Had had two knives.
He ran from the shop without taking anything and was spotted by two gardaí on patrol. They followed him, disarmed him and arrested him.
Gardaí also observed a waiting car and arrested a female passenger.

Both the man and the woman were brought to Terenure Garda station. The man (21) was charged, the woman (23) was released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
