Man (19) for court over Athy murder

A man is to appear in court in Co Kildare tonight charged in connection with the death of Jamie Lindsay in Athy last week.

The 19-year-old is to appear before a special sitting of Naas District Court at 8pm.

He was one of four people arrested in connection with the death of the 20-year-old. The other three remain in custody.

Lindsay (20), who was originally from Dublin but had an address at Coney Meadows, Coneyboro, Athy, was shot at Coney Green in Athy at 8.45pm last Saturday.

He was rushed to Naas General Hospital where he later died.

Gardaí investigating the murder raided properties in Athy and Stradbally on Friday, resulting in the arrests of four people.
