Male cyclist in 50s dies after crashing in Co Louth

Gardaí appeal for witnesses as man found fatally injured at Birch’s Lane, Blackrock

A cyclist has died after crashing in Co Louth.

The man, who is in his 50s, was found fatally injured at Birch's Lane, Blackrock shortly before 7am on Saturday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His body was taken to Louth County Hospital for a postmortem examination.

The road is currently closed to traffic pending an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
