John Gilligan’s legal battles continue

Ongoing attempts by the convicted drug dealer to prevent the sale of estate

Convicted drug dealer John Gilligan attended a consultation with legal representatives at the Four Courts in Dublin yesterday afternoon as part of his ongoing attempts to prevent the sale of his former showjumping arena, Jessbrook, and lands on the Kildare-Meath border.

Mr Gilligan last month applied to the High Court to have the arena and lands included on the registry of lis pendens, which warns perspective buyers the title of the land is subject to litigation. The estate is being offered for sale, having been seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau.

The bureau's case in relation to a house on the lands currently occupied by Mr Gilligan's estranged wife Geraldine Gilligan is due before the Supreme Court next Friday.
