Human rights honours conferred
Three awards for campaigning for human rights and working for a more just and equal society, founded in memory of Travellers rights advocate John O’Connell, were presented at NUI Maynooth last week by its department of applied social studies.
The recipients were Ronnie Fay, former graduate of the department and director of Pavee Point Travellers Centre; Donal Bligh, who has just graduated and worked with the Bradóg youth centre in Dominick Street and a youth centre in Priorswood, and John McCormick, deputy chief executive of the Youth Service in Northern Ireland, who also has an MBE for his services to young people.
Public procurement training seminars
The Forum on Public Procurement in Ireland, in association with Ormond Meeting Rooms, is holding a series of training seminars from January to April in the Ormond Meeting Rooms, Upper Ormond Quay, Dublin, on Thursdays from 4pm until 6.30pm. Update on entire agreement clauses
The Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland will host a meeting at 6.30pm on Tuesday, January 25th, at the Distillery Building, Church Street, Dublin, where Prof Robert Clark will deliver a talk entitled "Entire Agreement Clauses – An Update".

Prisoner graffiti
The Irish Women Lawyers Association will host a talk by Niamh O'Sullivan, former curator of Kilmainham Gaol, on examples of graffiti from women prisoners, in the Multimedia room, the Distillery Building, Church Street, Dublin, on February 1st at 6.30pm. There will be a reception afterwards.
Entrance is free to members, €5 to non-members.
Mediation skills
Mediation Northside is presenting a conflict resolution and mediation skills course in the Civic Centre, Bunratty Road, Coolock, Dublin.
The course presenter is Geoffrey Corry and the fee is €895. It is designed for volunteers and professionals who want to develop mediation skills. See nclc.ie/mediation
