Human skeletal remains have been found near the Shannon estuary in Co Limerick.
Gardaí said the remains were found on a nature reserve just off the Condell Road at about 1pm.
The area has been sealed-off for a technical examination.
“At this early stage foul play is not suspected however investigations are continuing and gardai are reviewing all missing persons files for the area,” a Garda spokesman said.
