Gardaí seize €200,000 worth of cannabis in Dublin

Cocaine worth €35,000 and €140,000 cash were seized following a separate search

Gardaí have seized €200,000 worth of cannabis, €35,000 worth of cocaine and €140,000 cash in two separate searches in Dublin.

The cannabis was found during a follow-up search in Kilmore on Saturday.

On Wednesday, May 5th, €72,000 worth of cannabis was seized during the search of a premises in Kilmore in an intelligence led operation that was part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime in the area

A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and she was detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Ballymun Garda Station.

She was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The additional €200,000 worth of cannabis was seized during the follow-up operation.

Also on Saturday, gardaí seized €35,000 of cocaine and €140,000 in cash in Kilmore as part of a separate investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs. A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996.

Gardaí said the investigation following the seizure of the cocaine and cash is unrelated to the cannabis find earlier in the week and subsequent follow-up on Saturday.
