Gardaí are searching for three men after a cash-in-transit van driver was held-up at gunpoint in Tallaght, Dublin today.

The robbery took place at Old Bawn where a driver had been collecting money at a premises. Two men confronted the driver, one man was armed with a shotgun and the other man was also armed with a weapon.

A third man was waiting in a silver Toyota Avensis in which they escaped with a sum of money, a Garda spokesman said.

The car was later recovered by gardaí in the Allenton area. No shots were fired during the incident and no-one was injured.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses and the incident is still under investigation.
