Gardaí investigate serious road crash in Dundalk

Woman seriously injured and baby taken to hospital after two car crash on the Old Armagh Road

Gardaí in Dundalk are investigating a serious road crash at Carnbeg on the Old Armagh Road (the R177) at approximately 11am on Saturday morning.

The female driver of one car was airlifted to Tallaght hospital with serious leg injuries. She is in in her 30s. A baby in her car received minor injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.

The male driver, in his 20s, of the second car was also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital. There was no one else involved in the crash.

The road is currently closed for an examination and diversions are in place.
