Gardaí in Wexford are investigating two aggravated burglaries that took place this morning.

In both incidents masked men targeted elderly women. The first burglary took place just before 3am in Ramsgrange, where it is believed three masked men broke into the home of an elderly woman who was living alone.

They searched the house and took some of her belongings. The woman was not physically harmed.

The second burglary took place in Fethard-on-Sea, where some four masked men broke into another woman’s house, stole belongings and made off with her car. The vehicle was later found burned out not far from her house.

The woman was not injured.

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen a dark-coloured saloon car early this morning. This vehicle was spotted in both Ramsgrange and Fethard-on-Sea this morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New Ross Garda Station on 051 426030, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
