Man who appeared drunk shot a gun at a house on Beaver Street, Dublin 1

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin 1 on the night of May 14th to contact them.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting incident in Dublin City to come forward with information.

On the night of May 14th a man was seen firing a gun in the direction of a house on Beaver Street, Dublin 1.

Gardaí said the man was in the area for a long time and would have stood out as he struggled to control his bicycle and gun before and after the incident. A statement from the gardaí said the man also appeared to be drunk.

Following the incident he mounted his bike and proceeded slowly along Beaver Street onto Railway Street, halting the progress of a dark coloured saloon car in the process. The gardaí would like to speak to the driver of the car.

A 28-year-old man was arrested near the scene and detained at Store Street Garda station. He was released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí are seeking assistance from the local community and would like to speak with anyone who may have seen a man on a red mountain bike at Beaver Street, Railway Street and Sean McDermott St between 10.30pm and 10.40pm on the night of Wednesday 14th May.

The man was dressed in a light coloured hoody with dark bands about two inches thick on both upper arms, dark bottoms and dark runners.
