Gardaí in Dublin have appealed for witnesses after a man was shot in the leg in the early hours of this morning.

A Garda spokesman said the 21-year-old received gunshot wounds at Slieve Bloom Park in Drimnagh at about 5am.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A forensic examination of the scene is taking place this morning.

The Garda spokesman urged anyone with information to contact Crumlin Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1 800 666111.
