Search of lands outside Dundalk, Co Louth began on Friday night

Gardaí targeting the activities of dissident republicans have seized two firearms during a search of lands at Raskeagh outside Dundalk in county Louth.

The operation began about 9 pm on Friday and is expected to continue for the rest of Saturday.

The Army bomb disposal unit is at the scene.

The location is approximately 3km from Kilcurry where gardaí arrested three men last May. At that time bomb making materials were found.
